Welcome back!!
This is the continuation of my search for the Street Art in Georgetown, Penang. If you have missed out on my earlier posting, you can find it here; Street Art around town; of a different kind and also my walk in Georgetown Heritage Area
Started off early in the morning, we have our breakfast at Weld Quay at a typical old Kopitiam (coffee shop).
Oyster porridge; nice and tasty with youtiao (fried breadstick)
a typical old coffee shop in Penang.
This stall sells ban chang kuih (pancake)
nice and crispy ….
….filled with crushed peanuts.
Welcoming us at the entrance of Chew Jetty was a painting of an old lady and I guess next to her was her grandson in a ‘superman’ costume.
Like what you seen? Well there’s more. Follow me on my continuation of my search ……
Makes me want to travel!!! 😀
Well… come let’s travel!!! =)
Always love Georgetown, somehow the place is so homey to me. 🙂
Yup.. it has improved so much especially the last few years. Been staying here for the last 19 years and only the last few years that I really took the street by foot to see what I has missed and this time.. I will try to go every inch of Georgetown and it’s Heritage Trail. =)
Photos are amazing!
Thanks!!! =)
I tried a Malaysian pancake from a street stall in London – delicious!!
That’s great to hear. Guess someone has brought the knowledge over there to share this over there. Well.. this is just one of those things that you can find in Malaysia. The one you had was with crushed peanuts and sweet corn or…?
I couldn’t choose so I think I had everything – sweet corn, peanuts and beans.
haha…. ok. =) Did you they also sell with an egg or sliced fresh banana in it?
No. Egg or banana wasn’t offered.
Ohh.. if they have, you should try it with egg in or slices of banana. In Malaysia, they have this add-on option (of course add on $$$ too. LOL!!). =)
Heard a lot about Penang. Hope to go there this year or next :)) thanks for sharing
Thanks for dropping in. In fact you should drop in Penang especially Georgetown Heritage Area. Lots of things to see, do and not forgetting the FOOD!! haha..
Thanks!! I will. Any hotel for recommendation in George town?
It depends on yr budget as there are quite a number of hotels and motels in the area. There is even a home stay where you can stay in the Chew Jetty which is located next to the Heritage area.
