Malaysia – A View from the Airplane Window

This is my one of trip back from Penang to Kuala Lumpur using flight. As flights were getting more affordable (provided you book early) it is more convenient to fly than to take a bus which may even cost more. Malaysia have a lot of choices of flights to choose from such as Firefly, Berjaya Airlines and Malindo which flies to Subang Skypark, and Airasia to LCCT. Flight time is usually around 45mins to 1 hr whereas a bus trip will take about 4 to 5 hours.

A nice shot from the airplane window overlooking the 2nd Penang Bridge link; which is 24km long (land and sea) which is expected to be open in Nov 2014 linking the island to the mainland at Batu Kawan.

The Island of Pulau Jerejak which is a short 5min ferry ride from the island. This island was formerly the main leper asylum for The Straits Settlements (1868), then Quarantine Station(1875) and later penal colony (1969) for the ISA detainees. Now, it has been converted to a resort which is facing the island side. While the other side of the island of Jerejak is a shipyard.

Lastly…. a short out of the window of the clouds at 25,000 feet.

Taiwan – A short trip to Hsinchu

Was in Hsinchu on Tue and out from there back in KL on Thu this week. That’s like my trip to form KL to Penang and back to KL.

My flight to Taiwan was actually quite empty. Lots of empty seats.

Anyway I was there on business trip but I managed to capture some night shots when I reached there.

This is the famous ‘Dong Men’ monument in Hsinchu that is now located in the middle of a roundabout in the city of Hsinchu.

I believe last week the city was having a lighted festival…. and below were of the items that were lighted up.

USA – A drive around Poughkeepsie, New York (1)

This is one of my business trip and this time was to New York, USA back in Nov 2009. I had took the opportunity to all travel around the area where I went and take as many photos as I could. Over here are just some of it. This is my first part of USA which I will  share; New York.

How’s the flight? It was one of my longest flight ever; KL – Singapore (transit) – Frankfurt (transit) – New York.  It was close to 24hrs trip. This is the kind of trip I wish I was on business class but well… no luck then to be upgraded from economy class.

My first transit was in Changi Airport…

… then it was to Frankfurt, arriving at 5am…..

Landed in JFK International Airport in the early morning and rented a car to drive to Poughkeepsie which was about an hour to an hour half from New York City.  It was suppose to be beginning of winter and I was told that there would be snow but I was lucky and it was nice cool temp. No snow at all.

Catching my flight @ Skypark

Got up early to catch my flight back to Penang last weekend. It was my first time trying out the Berjaya Airlines from Skypark; another carrier which is opening up more route around Peninsular Malaysia. Aside from this airlines, there is also Firefly Airlines and those private jets or helicopters using this airport.

The shops in the airport were still close when I checked in as it was still very early.

This airport cater mostly for internal flight although there also some flights to Singapore or Medan.

Finally back home…

Finally back home after a week away. Busy week with meetings and meetings and lots of eating. Guess I would have put on a coupled of kilos.

Slight delay in flight but glad to be back home home.

Flight to Taiwan (delayed post)

Another hour to go be arriving at Taoyuan International Airport. Lucky it is only a 4 hour flight. Bumpy at the beginning but at later was a smooth on.
Flight meal really sucks. Had the seafood noodle or is it me who just got fed up w airplane food after having traveling on n off. It is either chicken or fish, rice or noodles. Can’t they have other kind of food!!! Another meal that I did not finish. Maybe it is better to get some street food in Taiwan for supper.

At least I got a good shot out from my window. Nice sky colour.

Last trip overseas for the year….

Arrived at international airport to catch my flight to Taiwan. I never actually took time to actually stop n look n snap shots of the airport even been here a few times.

As known, airports are never the best and also known for been expensive places to eat. Guess that’s the way to make money out of the passengers as passengers have no choice but just to take it or leave it.

This is my lunch which does not look so appealing as compared the picture they put up. Taste… Mmmm edible but I wouldn’t order again the next time. I think I better stick to the fast food like McD the next time.
