This is Simit . Somewhat reminiscent of a bagel is Istanbul’s single most beloved food items. Saw the street vendor selling it outside the Sultan Ahmed Mosque.

  1. I love all the different architecture and foods. I’m not a big traveler so it’s fun to get to enjoy the world through your photos. Mahalo. I was recently in Calif. and went to a town called Solvang. It’s a danish village with windmills and danish architecture. While there we had their favorite food called Abelskiver, which it turned out, was quite a bit like our Malasada here in Hawai’i. Similar the world over with just a little different twist and a different name–like the simit and a bagel.

    • Thanks!! Yup agree with you on the food. It is a just a slight twist or style of making in each country. Guess that what I like about traveling and seeing if there is any close similarity but done differently and also taste different (may or may not be too) =)
